Privacy Policy

About this policy

This policy describes how Momentum Apps handles information when you use VeeScript and veescript.momentumapps.org. VeeScript is a voice recording, transcription, and note-management app. You do not need to create a Momentum Apps account.

Recordings, transcripts, and notes

The app stores recordings, imported audio, transcripts, titles, folders, favorites, speaker labels you enter, and generated summaries on your device. Microphone access is used to record audio when you choose to record. You can revoke microphone permission in your device’s Settings. Importing a file gives the app access to the file you select.

Speech recognition runs locally using downloaded models. VeeScript does not send your audio or transcripts to Momentum Apps or a remote transcription service for speech recognition. On supported devices, summaries use Apple’s on-device Foundation Models. We do not use your recordings or transcripts to train our models.

iCloud sync and backups

When your Apple Account and iCloud are available, the app uses Apple CloudKit to sync saved notes and audio in your private iCloud database across your devices. This includes transcript text, summaries, note metadata, and audio files. Apple processes this data as the iCloud provider, subject to your Apple settings and Apple’s privacy policy. VeeScript does not publish this library or make it accessible to other users.

Device backups may contain app data depending on your backup settings. Downloaded speech models are excluded from backup. Deleting the app removes its local data but does not necessarily remove iCloud copies or backups. Manage VeeScript’s iCloud storage and backups through Apple’s Settings.

Speech-model downloads

Initial setup and model changes download speech-recognition and tokenizer files through WhisperKit and its upstream model hosting services, including Hugging Face. These providers receive ordinary connection information such as your IP address and requested files when downloads occur. Your recordings are not part of those downloads. See the Hugging Face privacy policy for information about that provider.

Sharing and your choices

You decide whether to export or share text, subtitles, or audio using the system share sheet. The recipients and apps you choose handle those copies under their own policies.

You can delete individual notes in the app, or remove a note’s audio while retaining its text. When iCloud sync is available, changes and deletions propagate to your other devices; offline devices may take time to update. Minimal deletion markers may remain to prevent old copies from being restored by sync. Exported files, recipient copies, and existing backups must be managed separately.

Analytics, advertising, and website hosting

VeeScript does not include advertising, third-party analytics SDKs, or cross-app tracking. This website does not add analytics scripts, advertising cookies, or tracking pixels.

The website is hosted by Netlify. The hosting provider may process technical request data such as IP addresses, browser information, requested URLs, and timestamps to deliver, secure, and operate the site. See Netlify’s privacy policy. Ordinary platform diagnostics and Apple services are subject to your device settings and Apple’s policies.

If you contact us

When you email support, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to include. We use this information to respond, troubleshoot, and maintain necessary support records. Do not send private recordings unless you want us to review them. We retain support correspondence only as needed for these purposes and applicable obligations, and you can ask us to delete it.

Retention, security, and privacy requests

App content remains on your device and in iCloud until you delete it, subject to sync and backup behavior described above. We do not maintain a separate Momentum Apps transcription database. Device storage protections and Apple’s services help protect content, but no storage or transmission system is completely secure.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of personal information, and to complain to a privacy authority. Contact us to exercise rights relating to information we hold, such as support correspondence. Manage device and private iCloud content through the app and Apple’s controls; we cannot directly retrieve or erase your private library for you. Service providers may process information in countries other than your own under their policies.

We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising.

Children’s privacy

VeeScript is not directed to children under 13, and Momentum Apps does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us so we can address it.
